Welcome to 2018 at Forster Tuncurry U3A!
Thanks to all who joined in the usual fun events in Term 4, 2017. You’ll see some photos in the Newsletter of members sharing good times at events like Melbourne Cup day, Thank You morning tea, and on the last day of term, a very interesting and informative walk around the lakes near Neranie, hosted by Keith Buls.
Last year saw increased interest in our U3A, with a membership boost of about 20% compared to the start of the year. We welcome all those people for whom the friendly, voluntary, sharing-learning aspects of U3A resonate.
In a challenging world, there’s something to be said for the social aspect of learning something new, enjoying light physical activities, and yes, keeping those marbles rolling with a few laughs thrown in. Importantly, as we all know, new friendships emerge with people who share things in common.
Course Coordinator, Jan Wagstaff, has worked hard to set up another varied program of activities. I encourage you to take some time to browse the list of sessions, tick the boxes on the enrolment form, mark your calendar, then come along and enjoy yourself on those days.
Thanks again to our committee for all you do. We’ll be looking to train people in key positions over the coming six months. Positions are well documented, and it’s a very supportive and cooperative atmosphere, so do consider giving a committee role a try.
Enrolment days are the 29th and 30th January and Welcome Morning is on the 5th February.
See you then, David Tyrrell (firstname.lastname@example.org)
