PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Hello again and welcome to Term 4.

Congratulations to the new committee and welcome to our two new members for 2017/18, Trish Van Eyk and Margo Jaques-Watson.

I’d like to once again express our appreciation to recently retired committee members Margaret Smillie, Morag Peters, and Pat Cornish.

At the AGM it looked like we wouldn’t have anyone to fill the vacancy left by Pat Cornish’s departure from the Membership Secretary’s position. However, we very much appreciate Ann Bell putting her hand up to take on the role. Ann has come up to speed very quickly in this important position.

We are all grateful to Jan Mooney, Jan Wagstaff and Jan Peasnell for their continuing commitment in the crucial roles of Treasurer, Course Coordinator, and Newsletter Editor, respectively.

As we move into the warmer months we can look forward to another interesting program, thanks to Jan Wagstaff, with the Melbourne Cup, an end-of-term walk around the lakes, and the Christmas Party as notable social events.

Cheers to all those who have contributed to our 100% voluntary Forster Tuncurry U3A throughout the year. Let’s continue the collaborative positive energy into 2018!

As this is the last newsletter for the year, on behalf of the committee, I wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

Join us on Welcome Morning on October 9th for a cuppa, special homemade treats, more news and a chat.
